#NMCelebrityCloseUp | Exclusive Interview with Stanley Ebuka Ejimofor.

Read through our Exclusive Close-Up with one of Nollywood's fast-rising Actor as he takes us into his world and all that makes him who he is...

Q: Can we meet you?

My name is Stanley Ebuka Ejimofor. I'm a real Nollywood Actor.

Q: ...why real Nollywood?

We have so many Road side Actors,None professionals and lack discipline.

Q: And how will you term the word 'discipline'?

It goes a long way with ones Character and behavior.

Q: So how did acting start for you?

I started Acting on 1st January, 2003 and registered as AGN (Actors Guild of Nigeria) member on 9th June, 2005, during the regime of Zack Orji.

Q: From that time till now, what project or movie will you say gave you the break?

The movie Banana Island did the magic. The Character I played was well interpreted by me and the Title of the movie was captivating to the Viewers and the concept of the story was mind blowing too. The location was right for the story and all the Artistes did their best in the movie. The movie was a ghetto movie starring Angela Okorie, Queen Nwokoye, Odira, myself and many more.

Q: If opportunity comes to play lead role with any Hollywood Actress, who will it be?

Wow! Angelina Jolie or Halle Berry.

Q: Generally, What are your Top 5 movies and why?

My Top 5 movies are Mmeso, Bloody Will, Banana Island, Munachi - (Heart of Men) and Money Before Sex.

Q: As a seasoned Actor what are those things to have in mind before venturing into the movie scene and to be successful in it?

Firstly, you have to be educated and know how to Act.
Secondly, be patience and humble at all times.
Thirdly, you need to have it in mind that Acting is a serious Business for serious minded people.
And lastly, you must have it in mind that sacrifices must be made one way or the other.

Q: Have you produced any movie of yours or you have intention of doing later?

No! I haven't and don't have any intention later. Sticking to acting, maybe Directing could be a choice later in the future.

Q: if you get a chance into the Big Brother Africa will you accept despite the Adult contents?

Yes of course! It's a game for adults and i'm ready to play along.

Q: From your perspective, what does it take to perfectly interpret any movie character/role?

Forget all your worries, wear any character you are been given to play. Concentrate and see your self as that Character in the script and ensure you read your script very well and understand it well. Also, know the character you are playing and understand the Character well. Learn to work with your Director too, Ask questions about the character your playing from the Director and Script Writer. It will help you interpret and understand the character you are playing very well.

Q: So, what is the most humiliating character you've ever played?

A mad man role.

Q: (Host Laughing...) Real mad man or 'tushed' mad man?

Real crazy mad man in the forest.

Q: If you were not into acting what would you have been doing?

Can't really say. Acting is what am passionate about.

Q: who will you say is your best dressed Nollywood Actress?

Tonto Dike.

Q: Have you ever starred in any Yoruba or Ghana movie?

No! I have not.

Q: Piracy and its evils. What can be done?

They need to checkmate all movie practitioners and movies major Sales Outlets. They also need to form an Organisation that will checkmate the market and its release of Movies too.

Q: Who is meant to do that, the Government or Nollywood Body?

The two bodies should put heads together. I believe something good will happen.

Q: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

I see myself as a well fulfilled Super Star and a well celebrated Celebrity with so much Achievements, Amen!

Q: Have you ever thought of going into modelling and fashion related biz?

Yes,I was into Modelling before but gave it a Break for a while but I intend going back to it soon.

Q: Was modelling not giving the pay?

Yea! It wasn't giving me the pay and it's very stressful getting the jobs if you have no good Modelling Agent. And I couldn't combine modelling with Acting. The timing for Both wasn't just right for me. Sometimes, your filming and your Agent calls you for a Modelling casting. It's difficult to share yourself.

Q: So if given $1million to go fully into Modelling and never to Act, what will be your decision?

I won't quit Acting for a million dollar because its what gives me joy and am passionate about it. My happiness can't be bought.

Q: So what do you have for younger minds aspiring to go into Acting/Movies?

They should be sure of what they want. If it's Acting, then they should be ready for the challenges ahead of the them.

They also need Focus, Patience, Humility, Money and Encouraging people around them and also the right environment with Positive-minded people.

Host: Thank you so much Mr Stanley. We wish you successful years ahead in your career and we hope you will answer us when we beckon anytime soon. Thank you!
